The 8 Lies Told by “the Secret” Exposed

The Secret Rhonda Byrne is a 90-minute DVD and a book of 200 pages is a transcript of the DVD with additional content. The Secret revealed for the first time said all the pieces for success. The Secret was launched in 2006 and has become a trend worldwide. In March 2007, the DVD has sold 1.5 million copies and 3.75 million copies of the book were printed. This article was written to correct the bad advice of the secret. The developers of video and book The Secret is very similar to the rogue traders in the following story that took advantage of the Blackfeet tribe of American Indians. The story goes as follows:

A businessman was given an Indian nation to have a stock of goods. Among other things, had a quantity of gunpowder. Indians trade of clothing, hats, hatchets, beads and other things, but would not have the dust, saying, “We do not want to dust, we have in abundance.” The trader did not like at all the dust again in this camp, so I thought I could play a trick of the Indians, and to induce the purchase. Will open a piece of land near the camp of Indians who dug the soft, rich soil, and then mixing a quantity of seed onion powder plant started it.

The Indians were curious to know what he was doing, and stood by the very interested. “What are you doing?” said one. “The planting of gunpowder,” said the trader. “Why plants?” asked another. “To raise a crop of dust. How could grow without planting? “said the trader. “Do not plant corn in the ground?” “What gunpowder grow corn?” said half a dozen at a time. “No doubt it will,” said the trader. “Do not you know? As I do not want my dust, I thought that plant and raise a crop that could collect and sell to the crows. “Now the Crows are another Indian tribe, which has always been at war with this tribe (Blackfeet). The idea of their enemies with a large amount of dust increased the excitement, and one of the Indians said, “Well, well, if we can raise as corn powder, buy your stock and plant.” But some of Indians thought better to wait and see if the seeds grow. Therefore, the merchant agreed to wait a few days.

In about a week small outbreaks of onion seeds began to appear above the ground. The trader, calling the Indians to the scene, said: “You see now for you. The powder and begins to grow, as I told you that. “The fact that some small plants appeared that the operator had put the powder was enough to convince the Indians. Each of them to increase the anxiety became a growing wildfire. The retailer sold its shares, which had a great mixture of onion seeds (which is similar) to a very high price and then left. From this moment the Indians gave no attention to their crops of corn. If they could increase the wildfire that happy.1 like the merchant has lied to the Indians and promised a harvest of gunpowder money for the Indians do the creators of The Secret Profits from the sale of lies that produce false illusion of hope and happiness. The merchant mix onion seed to the illusion of growth, and to hide their lies. It also is the most convincing taught in The Secret are masked by the slight addition to the truth. On the advice of the trader, the Indians were much worse. They had less money because they had spent gunpowder in seed corn and not overlooked, because their crops of corn. Similarly, those who follow the advice of Secret, ultimately, in a worse situation.

Lie 1: “Whatever the mind. . . can conceive it can achieve. ” 2

Story follows the Blackfeet Indians finally realized that he had been misled when they harvested the onions instead of gunpowder. If we look at this result through the lens of the teachings of The Secret, one could assume that the Indians have had a great harvest of gunpowder because they really thought and believed that the powder to grow. Why then gunpowder not grow, even when the Indians firmly believed? Was because the growth of the powder is not based on truth. The secret that preaches positive mental attitude can accomplish anything. The teachers of the “secret” invited the Indians to tell a seminar and to think more positively. Convincingly that the Indians feel they carry more hope and conviction onion seeds undoubtedly increase wildfire. The Indians also are taught that if they do not succeed in increasing the gunpowder, would be his own fault for not having enough belief and hope.

A powerful illustration of the long-term effect of the belief that “… whatever the mind can conceive can be achieved “can be found in the study of the various prison camps.” . . where every day human nature, stripped naked, can be studied under the microscope of the acceleration time. And stressed that lessons absorbed in a lab to refine the eye abstruse, but very important applications in “real time” world of today. ” 3 The following account of a prisoner in a **** prison camp during World War II illustrates the devastating effects of false hopes and false expectations that will be created if one practices” ; secrecy. ” In February 1945, well known composer in the field believe that March 30 would be released and their suffering ended. Was “full of hope and believe his dream would be right. However, he noted that the nearest days, news of the war came to our camp seems unlikely to be free on the date promised. On March 29, [the author] was sick and had a high temperature. On March 30. . . became delirious and lost consciousness. On March 31, he was dead. “The Secret” 4 is dangerous because people will eventually break. Promotes and to believe things based on false teaching, like the planting of gunpowder. So when there is success, the fault lies with the person rather than the false teaching. And a false belief in the prison camps for ransom by a given date and eventually break to kill the prisoners when it comes to pass, and also the setting of goals and positive thinking is not based on truth finally break the goal regulator when the objectives are not achieved.

The authors of the “secret” that should be taught to ignore the facts and place our hopes and expectations in our minds can think of something. This process creates a false world of fantasy. The student is also claiming bad things do not happen or to dissociate from them not to face the bad or negative. The final result at the prison camp was repeated disappointment and eventual death. The results of the implementation of the “secret” in other aspects of life will be much the same: repeated disappointment, self-blame, and the eventual death of our ambitions.

Lie 2: You can defy the laws of nature with your thoughts. The Secret claims, “The law responds to your thoughts, no matter what.” 5 The law of attraction to the teachings of The Secret is false because it teaches you can defy the laws of nature with his thoughts. For example, The Secret teaches, “food is not responsible for putting on weight. It is your thought that food is responsible for putting on weight that actually has food put on weight. . . Food can not make you put on weight unless you can think. “6 This is as absurd as saying:” You only die of dehydration if you think you. If you think you can live months without water. ”

The false allegation weight loss of thinking that is much in The Secret attracts many because it requires no work, no exercise, and eat what allows want and as much as you want. I hope that this evil is illustrated in a cartoon where a woman seeing an ad reading, “Eating chocolate cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner and lose weight,” replied, “Finally, a diet that makes sense. “The problem is that like the chocolate cake diet,” the secret “does not work. The Secret teaches, “Beliefs about aging are in our minds. . . You can think your way to the perfect state of health. . . and eternal youth. “I suppose now that 7 million people have learned this secret, that morticians better start looking for another line of work because people will not grow old and die.

The Secret also teaches, “No time for the Universe to manifest what you want. . . Any delay time that the experience is due to the delay in reaching the place of believing, knowing, and feeling that you already have. “8 According to The Secret, a seed has only four months to grow to harvest just a tree or years to grow tall because he thinks it is. If you think that will grow instantly, it will.

Secret formula to get out of debt is as ridiculous as the formula for weight loss. You simply have to change your thoughts to yourself saying “I can not pay that. I can not buy that. ‘. . . Say that again and again. “9 The truth is that the attitude that you can buy and pay for everything you want to see and actually create more debt, as people make purchases on credit without the financial support. Saying you can afford not to do so. Oh, I forgot, “the secret” is that buying things on credit debt created only if I think so.

Lie 3: All the struggles of life are the result of his thoughts.
God
Why not create a world where pain and suffering was not necessary? Is not life be better if there is adversity, pain or the opposition? The Secret teaches that, “So far we have been able to think that life is hard and a struggle, and the law of attraction that have experienced a tough life and struggle. Start now to shout to the universe, ‘Life is so easy! “10

Given the two scenarios below, which of the two schools you would like to attend?

School # 1 You are obliged to study and work. His degree is based on performance, and some will and some do not. Only those who meet the requirements of winning a title. It is sometimes difficult and painful.

School # 2

You must have evidence, but all the tests are multiple choice. “C” is always the right answer. You are required to “C” to each question, and everyone who takes the test receives a perfect score. Everybody gets a degree and graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. It’s easy. Is free to work, pain and struggle.

When I raise these two options in the various universities, most students choose the school # 2. Then ask, “How many would like to have surgery done by a graduate school # 2?” Obviously, there are no hands. If there is such a medical school, every graduate with a perfect score and a medical degree. Might be called doctor, but learning the skills of the surgery would not have been achieved, so the degree of such an institution would be useless. Labor pain, struggle and failure are part of the process of education needed to produce an individual with the skills of a surgeon.

When work, pain and suffering are removed from school to school is defeated. Similarly, if God created a world in which pain or suffering were not necessary, it would undermine the purpose of life. Life was not designed to be the existence of an endless happiness. Life was designed to create greatness in each one of us. CS Lewis said, “Be perfect command is not idealistic gas. Nor is it a command to do the impossible. He will make us the creatures that can obey the order. . . [God] will make the feeblest and dirty on us. . . a dazzling, radiant, immortal creature, pulsating all through with such energy and joy and wisdom and love as we can not imagine now, a shiny stainless steel mirror that reflects God (although, of course, on a smaller scale ) Their own limits power and pleasure and goodness. The process will be long and very painful, but that is what they are for. Nothing less. He understands what he says. “11 Secret falsely claims it can remove all the pain, suffering, adversity and working to change his thinking.

Lie 4: “Like Aladdin’s Genie, the law of attraction grants our every command. “12 Secret

teaches,” It’s like having the universe in its catalog. You via phone and say, “I would like to take this experience and I would like to have that product and I would like to have a person like that.” It’s you make your order with the universe. It’s really that simple. . . You can choose what you want. . . you may have, be or do anything, and there are no limits. “13 According to The Secret, if you want to be a siren, and live under water, just ask the universe as a genius, you will become a mermaid. The findings of the biographies that I read, I still have to find a person who is not a caricature, whose success was a genius of the formula.

Lie 5: Do not need the universe does the work for you. The Secret

teaches, “What will happen, how the universe will bring to you, is not their concern and work. Allow the Universe to do it for you. When you’re trying to figure out how it will happen, you emit a frequency that contains a lack of faith, do not believe. . . How is their part in the creative process. . . If you are in action to try to make it happen, you have slipped back. “The secret 14 not only shows that the action and work are not needed, but that’s bad, because it shows a lack of belief and faith in the universe to do it for you. The Secret book and video statement that Thomas Edison and the Wright Brothers’ success came as a result of the use of “secret.” 15 A simple look at the life of Thomas Edison and the Wright brothers clearly illustrates that no practice “The Secret. “Thomas Edison shows, never did anything worth doing by accident, nor any of my inventions come by accident, but arrived for work. “His biography reveals an incredible work ethic, often working 16 hours a day.16

The Wright brothers’ biography also reveals a plan of action and a lot of work to make your dreams a reality. In 1899, they began their flight experiments. Over the next four years, the Wright brothers conducted thousands of tests, experiments and flights. In 1901, they built the first wind tunnel and tested more than 200 different forms of wing, and only 17 in September and October 1902 were 700-1000 glides.18 After 4 years of work, December 17, 1903 , Orville, 32 years, and Wilber, 36, achieved his dream of a control, powered flight. According to The Secret, farmers are doing everything wrong. The physical and long working hours are simply unnecessary. The farmers only have to think and ask the universe and a crop that is planted, the water is, weed, harvest, and put the product in a barn that the universe constructed by him. Ask a farmer what really going on with this business plan.

Lie 6: “Your job is to you. . . It is imperative that you tend to you first. Attending his first joy. “19 Secret

teaches,” What is really important for the whole secret is to feel good. . . Sacrifice is not feeling well. . . Slaughter eventually lead to resentment. . . Many people have sacrificed themselves for others, thinking that they are slaughtered when they are a good person. Wrong! . . . If it is not fun, do not do it! . . . If it does not feel good, then let go. . . The only thing to do is feel good now. “If Satan 20 wrote a book, I am sure that these passages are quoted from the secret. Compliance with that standard as selfish “First they tend to” lead to abandoned children and the spouses and the rapid deterioration of families, communities and nations.

“They tend to First” is the opposite of the words of Jesus Christ, who taught: “I seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things, added unto you. “21 The more that compliance with their needs of its target, the further from the bull ’s eyes get. True fulfillment of their needs can not be obtained by direct search. True fulfillment of their needs will come as a result of his personal dedication to God and serving others. 7

Lie: The truth is relative. The Secret teaches, “You have nothing to do but to convince you of the truth that you wish to be seen. . . In designing something in his mind, he knows that is a fact. . . Whatever you choose is correct. “22 According to The Secret, the truth is what I think it is. The irrationality of this idea is illustrated by the following paraphrase of dialogue from the old Greek philosophers Socrates and Protagoras.

Protagoras: Truth is relative, it is only a matter of opinion.

Socrates: You mean that truth is mere subjective opinion?

Protagoras: Exactly. What is true for you is right and what is true for me, is true for me. The truth is subjective.

SOCRATES: Does it really mean? I think it is true that by virtue of being my opinion?

Protagoras: Indeed I do.

Socrates: My opinion is: Truth is absolute, not opinion, and you, Mr. Protagoras, are absolutely wrong. Since this is my opinion that is certain to be granted according to their philosophy.

Protagoras: You are quite right, Socrates.23

Just as there are truths that govern the nature, like gravity, there are also truths that govern our happiness, peace and prosperity. It is for learning and living these truths that experience true joy and peace. El Salvador said in relation to the truth, “If you know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.” 24 If we commit to anything more than the principles of truth, ultimately lost. No matter how one’s faith may be true in a falsehood, it will not change this false truth. Lie

8: Your mind is the Creator. The Secret teaches, “Your mind is the creative power of all things. . . His ability to think is unlimited, and the things that you may think that there are limitless. . . We are the creators not only of our own destiny, but also of the universe. . . Every beautiful thing [land, sea birds, the sun, the stars]. . . None of this can exist without you. . . You are the master of the universe. “25 According to The Secret, a person’s achievements are the result of your account without honor or credit to God and other people who helped in its success. Again, if Satan wrote a book, I am sure that these passages are quoted from the secret.

The truth is God is the Creator and Master of all. The first verse of the Bible states: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” 26 The New Testament of Jesus Christ said, “All things were made by him and without him was not anything was done. “27 The teachings of The Secret would believe that you are the master of the universe. Convinced that “success is the result of his mind” creates the vices of pride, selfishness and ingratitude. The reality is that once we realize our total dependence on God and believe that all we have and that is a gift from him, the virtues of humility, generosity and gratitude fill our hearts, minds and souls . Only then will the success and happiness is manifested in our lives. Conclusion

The ideas taught by The Secret can be summed up this false statement as it is in the beginning of the final chapter of the book. Said, “There is no blackboard in the sky in which God has written his purpose, his mission in life. . . So your purpose is what you say it is. Its mission is the mission that you give yourself. Your life will be like what he believes and not be in a ruling that now or never. “28 Secret’s teachings are false and that he is the devil who is the father of all lies. “29 Satan is the real secret of success of the falsification of principles. Teaching methods through the secrets of Satan. Instead, when asked about their doctrines, “Jesus replied. . . I said nothing in secret. “30

Unfortunately, many people believe the lies of The Secret, for its illusion of ease. The Secret chips may contain the truth, but with big lies. After Secret provide temporary and false hope and illusion of happiness, but the end result will be disillusionment and despair. The result of following the teachings of The Secret will not be successful, but misery. We must be careful to avoid the attraction of The Secret and its vicious cycle of false hope, and possibly the breakdown of our body and spirit. © 2007
